circuitriderIn 1856, area Methodists established a congregation and worshiped at Chesaning’s town hall. The Methodist Episcopal congregation in the Village of Chesaning grew and constructed their first building in 1869. George Robinson organized a Methodist Sunday School, which took place in a log schoolhouse just West of the Village of Chesaning. Robinson Methodist Episcopal building was raised in 1897. Back in the Village of Chesaning, Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church was established in 1870.

In 1968, all three churches: Chesaning and Robinson Methodist churches, and Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church joined to form Trinity United Methodist Church and raised the structure where they worship together to this day.

Through the years, faithful members with hearts for God’s people and trust in the grace of Jesus Christ have kept the Methodist presence strong in the Chesaning area.
