Passed away Tuesday morning, Jan.26, 2010 at his home. Age 88. He was born Jan. 1, 1922 in Brady Township.

World War II Veteran

He served in the U.S. Army during W.W.ll in the Pacific.

He and other board members were instrumental in bringing Brady Center Schools to the township.

Basil was an active member of  Robinson Methodist & Trinity United Methodist Church  for a total of 58 years.

He was a member of a Gospel Quartet at Robinson Methodist Church for approxiamently 5 years.

He had managed grain elevators in Chesaning, Henderson and Alicia.

He is survived by his wife Georgia (Allen). His children: Gary (Norene) Coon, Arizona. Janet (Joe) Stopjik, Chesaning. Wayne (Peggy) Coon, Flushing. Sheryl George (David Tims), Florida. 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. 3 brothers have passed away.

Friends may call on Friday at the Misuik Funeral Home from 12 noon until 8:00 pm and at TRINITY United Methodist Church on Saturday starting at 10:00 am.

Funeral service will take place on Saturday, Jan.30, 2010 at 11:00 am at the TRINITY United Methodist Church, Chesaning. Rev. Mark G. Johnston will officiate with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Chesaning.

 Memorials may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, Chesaning.
